Dr. Ram has been caring for pediatric patients since 1998. He believes in an evidence-based approach to children's health with a focus on shared decision-making. He partners with parents to develop care plans that align with each child's unique needs while prioritizing their overall well-being. Committed to practicing medicine with intention, Dr. Ram emphasizes clinical judgement over unnecessary tests and medications, ensuring that every intervention is backed by the latest scientific evidence. By fostering open communication and education, he helps families make informed decisions that support their child's long-term health.
Dr. Ram graduated from Chengalpattu Medical College, India in 1997. His pediatric training began in 1998 in London, UK. After passing the Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics(UK) exam, he moved to the USA for further training. Dr. Ram's score in the American Board of Pediatrics General Pediatric In-Training Exam was the 2nd highest among all pediatric residents in the country. His pediatric board exam scores were in top 0.3rd percentile among 4200 test takers. After completing his residency at St. John Hospital Medical Center, he worked in pediatric ICUs, in-patient wards, emergency rooms and urgent care centers. He joined Providence Park Pediatrics in 2011.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Ram serves as the Chair of Pediatrics at Henry Ford Providence Hospital Novi and Southfield. He is also an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine.
Beyond his professional life, Dr. Ram enjoys spending quality time with his family, whether watching Sci-Fi movies, taking long walks, playing tennis, or going on bike rides. He believes that an active lifestyle and shared experiences are key to maintaining a strong family bond. His love for both science and storytelling fuels his curiosity, making him a firm believer in continuous learning and exploration-both in medicine and in life. Dr. Ram speaks English and Tamil.
